The directors, who needed to be able to work from their rural homes, were looking for a connectivity solution that could allow them to do this as well as improve their overall internet experience and keep them better connected with the business.
With an ADSL connection, Satellite and 4G MiFi dongle at one of their rural offices/homes internet speeds were still performing poorly.
Keen to implement remote access to CCTV surveillance equipment the slow speeds of their existing connection meant this was not possible.
Alternative connectivity options such as fibre and a leased line were explored but fibre was not enabled in their area and a leased line incurring excessive installation charges of thousands of pounds neither were suitable options.
With alternative connectivity solutions not proving to be viable, GML Technology stepped in with a SimRush product that would improve overall performance speeds and allow for remote access to their surveillance equipment.
After establishing the data usage on their current connection and conducting an onsite visit to establish what speed could be expected, GML implemented the SimRush solution with a suitable data package.
As a trusted SimRush partner GML Technology stipulated their required firewall rules so that a SimRush bespoke configuration could be implemented, enabling the existing ADSL connection to work alongside the SimRush and allowing for remote access to the CCTV systems.
By enabling the ADSL to work alongside the SimRush it has meant that low priority traffic is sent through the ADSL connection, and high priority traffic through the SimRush ensuring faster speeds are delivered where they are needed the most.
Kestrel Liner Agencies now have access to internet speeds of 30Mb, enabling them to always stay connected with the rest of the business.
In addition to the faster speeds, they now have remote access to their video surveillance network, have an overall better browsing experience and have the ability to stream HD videos if required.
With the improved internet connection SimRush has provided, plans to expand the Wireless network at the 40 acre property are now possible. This would have been impossible with their previous connectivity. The implementation of the SimRush technology has also enabled the use of WiFi calling across the property meaning that even if there is no phone signal available, calls can still be made using the WiFi.
